In the past we've chosen a name at random to win a prize among those donating care quilts. This year anyone who donates one or more care quilts during the calendar year will receive a special pin. Each year thereafter a year's date pin attachment will be awarded for donations.
The Picnic Challenge is to make 2 placemats, with one side Floral as you might find on a picnic. Sew a Christmas-themed fabric on the other side. Bring them to the annual picnic in July.
Finished and unfinished will be judged together for Viewers' choice: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prizes. You may donate the placemats for our giveaway to the Senior Center or keep them - as you wish.
Make a string quilt or strip quilt - any variation you desire.
Instructions distributed at the April meeting.
Tessellations: In quilting, a tessellation consists of a single block or shape creating identical positive and negative spaces that can go on indefinitely. The challenge is to make a quilt using tessellations with no breaks or sashing. Borders are optional. See more details, and examples, in this PDF.
Instructions and panels for this challenge to be distributed at the February meeting.
